Please support PIM
Submitted by Wayne on Tue, 2008-04-08 11:22. BalletI want to encourage you to prayerfully consider supporting PIM financially. I find few charities to be worthwhile, often because their stewardship is poor. However, PIM is exemplary, and I wholeheartedly endorse them without reservation. » read more »

Here comes pointe!
Submitted by Wayne on Mon, 2008-03-10 14:02. BalletJuliana has been cleared by an orthopedic doctor [specializing in sports medicine] for going en pointe! Still young and with much growing remaining, she's yet very strong and has great control. She needs to make sure she doesn't push herself into fatigue or use poor form. Her slight "flat-footedness" that seems natural to her doesn't show in her ballet stances, but she'll need to keep up this trend (i.e., no cheating on turn-out). We're all very excited and did not expect such a good report since she's so young. » read more »
Dance teachers
Submitted by Wayne on Wed, 2008-02-06 19:44. BalletI wish to extol the virtues of the teachers at En Pointe School Of Dance. Besides being overtly and thoroughly Christian and caring for their students, they really know their dance! They are of professional quality, yet dedicated to loving service in a Christian niche. Students need not be believers to enroll at En Pointe, of course, but they receive the benefits of a Christian leadership.
En Pointe's teachers go above and beyond the call of duty, staying after class, spending ample time with parents when asked, even giving extensive evaluations when appropriate or requested. They are all good communicators, leaving few, if any, unanswered questions or unknown goals. Students are conscientiously placed in the right classes. They pay close attention to each student, insuring they learn the material.
Come visit En Pointe, watch a class, try one out. You'll quickly see why En Pointe School Of Dance enjoys such a great reputation.

PIM Needs
Submitted by Wayne on Tue, 2007-10-09 09:57. BalletPraise In Motion's Tech Crew needs financial help. PIM is performing The Gift at a new venue this year (new for the Christmas program). This venue is woefully deficient in its power facilities (for lighting and such). As such, the Tech Crew needs some additional equipment, including at least 5 new dimmers (approx. $200 each), light rentals, and rental of a 30kW+ generator. This is the list of urgent needs as I understood it last week. It could be changing after this weekend as plans are finalized. Rest assured, though, needs are ever present for Tech Crew and other PIM expenses. It truly has been miracle after miracle that expenses are provided for by the Lord each year. » read more »
Tech Crew for The Gift
Submitted by Wayne on Mon, 2007-10-08 10:52. BalletThe call has gone out for Tech Crew help for PIM's "The Gift". If you're interested in helping out, let me know, and I'll get you in touch with the coordinator/supervisor.
It's a blast and a riot! It'll also tax you physically, if you give your all. You'll be blessed more than you thought possible, though--and this is just the behind-the-scenes stuff. The performances themselves will be blessings on top of that!
Started ballet this week
Submitted by Charla on Wed, 2007-09-12 00:16. Ballet | Home LifeWell I finally did it. I signed up our oldest daughter for ballet this past Monday. On your recommendations we're now at En Pointe.
Our daughter is only 4 but she really enjoyed the class. I was sidetracked by having to watch her little toddler sister as well, but from what I could observe, the teacher was very friendly and patient with each dancer.
At the end I was moved to tears when they turned out the light to let all the dancers just dance for the Lord in whatever way they wanted. To see these little ones jump and twirl and dance together for Him... an answer dropped in my spirit about why they were here... God made these little ones just so He could enjoy them too. » read more »
Prayers for me
Submitted by Wayne on Wed, 2007-08-29 08:52. Ballet | Home Life | MinistryI'd like your prayers. I'm not posting this in the prayers forum simply because this will be ongoing and certainly isn't on par with the "real" prayer requests posted there.
I've been given some new responsibilities in a ministry with which I am gladly affiliated. I'm asking the Lord to keep me humble and diligent, ever obedient to Him alone, so I may execute these responsibilities for His glory. I rarely find ministries with leaders' hearts properly following after the Lord and His will (rather than their own), but this is most certainly one. I see the Master's handiwork daily in this ministry, and I am blessed and honored to be a small part of it. » read more »
