Elijah's Ascension

| |

I recently read Shocked By the Bible* by Joe Kovacs. In its pages, I found an interesting claim. It involves the ascension of Elijah, described in 2 Kings, chapter 2. Kovacs' claim is that Elijah was not translated directly to the third heaven to be with the Lord, as is commonly held. » read more »

The Lord is a man of war

Exodus 15:3 popped out at me today.

Read The Book

Vox admonishes morons to read the books they reference or critique. I think Vox is wasting his blog bits, but that's okay. (After all, those who need to hear this are already morons. Bible Expert Isn't

...
"Jesus did not create the world," said the Bible Go-to Guy. "The world was created through Him. That's a difference."

Does anyone else have an opinion on this? (I mean, besides Wayne, from whom I am certain we will hear very soon. Smiling)

From Baal to Barack

As this column indicates, the distance from ancient Baal worship to modern leftism isn't exactly a giant leap. It's actually barely a step. And they call themselves "progressives."

God's Secret Name

The tetragrammaton, the four-letter Hebrew name of God that nobody really knows for sure how to pronounce or what it means, is translated in Exodus as "I AM". Hebrew is a phonetic language, meaning each letter stands for a sound, just like English. However, Hebrew can also be an ideographic language like Chinese or ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, where each symbol stands for an idea or a whole word. This ideographic perspective of Hebrew isn't used much anymore, but it's valid. Using this, the tetragrammaton, יהוה (the LORD), means: » read more »
