Lunacy of gun control

If a prisoner can get a gun, just how do lawmakers think that "gun control" laws are effective against criminals in society? It's just another psychosis.

Top Ten Gun Safety Tips

Top Ten Gun Safety Tips

10. Always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction, such as at a Hippie or a Communist.

9. Dumb children might get a hold of your guns and shoot each other. If your children are dumb, put them up for adoption to protect your guns.

8. No matter how responsible he seems, never give your gun to a monkey.

7. If guns make you nervous, drink a bottle of whiskey before heading to the range.

6. While unholstering your weapon, it’s customary to say, “Excuse me while I whip this out.”

5. Don’t load your gun unless you are ready to shoot something or are just feeling generally angry.

4. If your gun misfires, never look down the barrel to inspect it.

3. Never use your gun to pistol whip someone. That could mar the finish.

2. No matter how excited you are about buying your first gun, do not run around yelling “I have a gun! I have a gun!”

1. And the most important rule of gun safety: Don’t piss me off.

Aviation Security

http://www.newsmax.com/us/us_airport_security...

The government has spent $42.3 billion on aviation security since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, according to TSA.

An alternative—an actually Constitutional one!—would be allowing passengers to arm themselves. All the expense would be born by the private sector and voluntarily at that. Oh, yeah, and the security would actually work! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Sept. 11 would not have happened if the people had not been illegally disarmed.

And here's another favorite:

The TSA has removed 60 puffer machines from airports since last summer. TSA spokeswoman Kristin Lee said the machines are being removed on a case-by-case basis, and their removal does not create any security gaps.

If these puffer machines' removal does not create any security gaps, it means they added no security value when present. So which is it, Big Brother? Did you waste "more than $6 million" of our money on machines that added no security? Or do you now have security gaps? You can't have it both ways. Maybe it goes like this: they wasted $6 million on machines that don't work properly, and there are no security gaps because there is no security to speak of. The lawless have no problem bypassing TSA's laughable security. Only the lawful are victimized by it.

Church Shootings

Firearms are not allowed in church. Such laws do nothing to stop criminals; they only disarm victims. Evil is destructive, including self-destructive. It will go after the spiritually thriving churches, for they are good, and it will go after the spiritually void churches, too (this is the self-destructive aspect).

Georgia is replete with victim disarmament zones, notably churches and schools. Ignoring the fact that CCW "permits" are unconstitutional to be begin with, declaring certain zones as safe for violent criminals, by denying CCW-holders the right to defend themselves and their families and neighbors in those zones, is beyond stupid. Such lawmakers should be charged as accessories to all crimes that happen in these zones, including murder. (Same for business owners and employers who deny their people the right to effective self-defense.)

Next, the saucepans

This would have been a better story if the old lady had popped a cap in somebody's noggin, but it's still good. It seems that Ellen Basinski, 70, didn't take kindly to some punks going through her purse, so she punctuated her annoyance with a saucepan. After all, everybody knows that guns don't kill people, saucepans kill people!

For the record, she didn't kill anybody. I wish she had, though. Apparently, one of the would-be robbers was a kid that she had hired to shovel her driveway. She gave him a big tip, so he figured they had money. There's gratitude for you.

Australian Crime

Australian government confiscated all the guns from their lawful citizens a year ago, and now they don't know why crime is skyrocketing. Duh! Obama wants the same here, of course.

As for me, they can have my guns when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers--and they'd better get me with the first shot.

I'm interested in soliciting ideas for a name for my katana.
Brain dead

"Of course, the fact that the Founding Fathers, a group of men engaged in violent armed rebellion against their legal government, would have wanted only the government's soldiers and policemen to be legally armed is so deeply and willfully stupid that it still boggles my mind that anyone brain-dead enough to make that argument can remain conscious long enough to articulate it." --Vox Day

Courses offered; sign up now

As the spring dance recital season is coming to a close--just one more weekend--I'm beginning to fill up my summer schedule for those interested in the courses, "Firearms 101" and "Biblical Cosmology". They will be taught in my home. I prefer to teach the former one-on-one, so I'm willing to schedule it multiple times. (I'll certainly consider very small groups, though.) The latter is better with small groups and will also be highly interactive--the first to respond gets to choose the preferred date. I recommend planning for a three hour block for each course but as it's personalized instruction, it's up to you.

I've delayed many people until June because of my busy schedule of late, but I'm starting to fill my calendar now. Since demand is unusually high, I expect my weekends will fill up quickly. If you're interested in either (or both) of these courses, please let me know (wayne [at] tuscanycircle [dot] net) sooner rather than later, else you're less likely to get the dates of your choice. Requests will be handled in the order in which they are received.

Range time is optional for the "Firearms 101" course, but it would be in addition to the class time. It may take place on the same day as the class (immediately following) or be scheduled separately, depending upon range hours, etc. I recommend Bull's Eye in Lawrenceville; you should call 770.963.6556 for their hours of operation (and range fees) before scheduling with me. Keep in mind, weekends are busier and may include some wait time. We may be able to separately schedule range time on a weeknight, though.

While I ask that you cover the cost of the range, ammunition, and targets, I do not charge for my time--unless you stand me up. Range fees are in the neighborhood of $10 per hour per person. Targets are typically $1-$2 each. Ammunition costs can vary wildly depending upon how many different calibers you want to try out and how many rounds you want to shoot. I would recommend planning for around $50, give or take. You may also consider taking the class first before deciding, scheduling, and budgeting for the range, as the class may help narrow down which firearms of mine you'd like to try; the down side would be that a separate trip would be required. I can loan you hearing and eye protection, so you need not provide these nor rent/buy them.

There should be no cost for the "Biblical Cosmology" course.
