Dates fixed

The dates on the website appear to be correct now.

I'm workin'

I'll be working as part of PiM's tech crew. Let me know if you're coming and to which performances, and I'll make it a point to greet you.

Support

I hope you'll see PiM. I also hope you'll prayerfully consider supporting PiM financially (it's tax deductible). It's an awesome ministry--to the audience, the community, the dancers, the parents, and even the crew. If you wish to remain anonymous, just say so on the check; the bookkeeper will honor that.

One more weekend

Praise in Motion has one more weekend of performances (28th, 2:30 & 7:30--Woodruff) this spring. I hope you can make it!

The spring concert is a time when creative juices really flow. Dances are constantly being added, changed, and tweaked (even the day before the performance!). Some amazing moves and very moving dances are performed this year. One of my favorites is Schindler's List in Act I, but so is the History dance in Act II. Of course, Days of Elijah is always a favorite. There is also a beautiful pas de deux this year.

The dancers have really poured their hearts into their ministry, and it shows. They are an amazing blessing to me, and I can safely say the same is true for the rest of the tech crew.

Come and be blessed.

Tech Crew Rocks

Where else but Tech Crew can a guy roll out a Marley dance floor, tie up a cyc and hoist it, wire up and aim lighting, set up audio equipment, move sets and props, construct stage extensions, "catch" dancers, and then watch Godly ballet set to beautiful music?

Good guys

The fellows who work Tech Crew are dedicated dads. Most are there because they have a daughter (or two) in the company. This is a way for them to be a part of their daughter's interest. There are also a few Tech Crew dudes who don't presently have daughters in the dance company, but they love to serve and they're amazingly blessed by that service. To be perfectly fair, there are also a couple moms who work Tech Crew, most notably and often as stage directors and prop masters.

There is a core team of Tech Crew. These guys are always there. They help load the truck the night before going into the theater. They're there every moment they can be and every moment there's work to be done. They go far above and beyond the call of duty. They're the leaders, and they lead by shining example. They stay after the performance to pack everything up and load it back onto the truck. Often, it's the wee hours of the morning before they make it home. Although I'm not privy to details, I also know these core team members donate more than just their precious time to Praise In Motion. These men come from all kinds of denominations, but they're all strong in their faith, and it's this common worship of the Lord Jesus that brings them all together in His service.

I can't say what kind of impact Praise In Motion has on the community. These dancers made a significant impact on me before I went backstage. (I attended their performances for several years.) The impact they have on their dads, on the Tech Crew, though, is beyond measure--more than they know. In my waning years, I'll remember my time with Praise In Motion with great joy. Truly, it's an honorable and Godly ministry.
