Linking to comics
I inquired about linking to B.C. regularly, as it's always been a favorite of mine. This was the response:
Christina Lee

We received your request to set up a link from Johnny Hart's B.C. cartoon strips on Creators Syndicate'S website to your website.
Although Mr. Hart appreciates his many loyal fans and is flattered by this attention to his work, we must decline your request to link to the B.C. cartoons on your web page. Mr. Hart feels strongly about not having his cartoons on web sites (other than Creators Syndicate's) until copyright protection legislation is established for the Internet.
We do thank you for your interest in B.C. and hope you will continue to be an avid B.C. fan.
Sincerely,

Because of this, I think it's best to unlink the one we've got already and avoid linking to comics via img tags unless explicit permission is gained.
Sorry.
P.S. Please don't flame or otherwise contact Christina Lee. I've placed her info here merely to provide evidence of the legitimacy of this official refusal.

Copyright Law
While I appreciate Hart's stance and will respect it, I believe he is horribly misinformed about copyright law. Copyrights apply to the internet content just as much as to any other work. To await internet-specific copyright law is to hand the internet over to Congress to mess it up to the best of their ability.
