End of TuscanyCircle

I'm considering the end of TuscanyCircle. New content is waning. Interesting content (at least to me) has long been absent. Participation is a joke, excepting an annual debate. I'm either preaching to the choir (of one or two) or to no one. To my knowledge, no ministry is taking place here. There's some good reference material here amidst the noise, but I can save that off locally. I've even considered shutting TuscanyCircle down completely--or at least making it all private, password-protected. What do you think about the end of TuscanyCircle?

I've heard all the reasons for the lack of participation. They may be valid or they may not. It doesn't matter. Either way, the site may have simply run its course and outlived its usefulness.

Most of my views are shared by few or none. People don't like to be challenged, so anything different is to be feared or scorned. Those things I really desire to say I cannot say for fear of alienating--well, everybody. You think you've been offended by what I've written so far? I've been holding back! I foresee no actual value (though great potential value) in releasing my heretofore unpublished thoughts. The rest is banal.

TuscanyCircle has no singular focus, a key to web success. I've purposely avoided this hell because I would have lost interest years ago. Life is not compartmentalized or specialized, nor should it be. I didn't want TuscanyCircle to evolve thus either. This choice determined the site's fate before it began, though.

What do you think? Do you find value in TuscanyCircle? If so, what? What do you think about the end of the site? Does it matter to you? (I await the deafening silence.)

Keep it going

For myself, I would like to see TuscanyCircle continue. My reasons are largely personal. I learn from the posts here, and I appreciate the opportunity to express my thoughts from time to time. Clearly, my participation has waned since the site was created, and I am not promising that it will increase if TuscanyCircle sticks around. What I am saying is that I will stick around, reading every post and occasionally contributing. I benefit from both aspects of the site.

I would also note that TuscanyCircle has the potential to reach other people. There was an anonymous poster not too long ago who raised some very good questions and issues. It seems absurd to think that he would be the last person to find something of interest here.

Having said all that, I don't dispute anything that Wayne has said, and I would understand if he chooses to shut it down. I know that maintaining the site represents some time and energy for Wayne, and I don't want to dismiss that aspect of it. Still, my hope is that the site will remain open for the time being, and my prayer is that the Lord will use it for some purpose that we, even Wayne, may not be able to see at present.

I agree with Dave. Smiling

Useful; keep it

It seems TuscanyCircle is still useful to at least a few, so I'll keep it going.
