Disease Leads To Patience

I find that attributing liberalism, stupidity, or the like to diseases gives me great patience with others. Their thought patterns, words, and behavior are uncontrollable symptoms of their chosen diseases. They can't help it.

Like many biological diseases, such mental diseases are explicitly chosen. Just because you're diseased does not absolve you of responsibility, contrary to the popular victim-mentality. My grandfather was an alcoholic, a smoker, and swore too much; he quit all three, cold-turkey, at the same time simply by choosing otherwise. So, too, can the stupid, if they ever want to get better. Responsibility aside, once a disease is contracted, its symptoms are inevitable, predictable, and destructive.

The only depressing part, then, is recognizing that almost the entire planet is diseased and horribly disfigured, ideologically speaking, by choice. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
