Dance Resumes
The new dance year has begun. As I first stepped into En Pointe's (EP) studio yesterday afternoon, I was inundated with small tasks, queries, and greetings. It was pleasantly crowded, and I was a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, I was happy to be back.
Juliana, on the other hand, was ecstatic to be returning to dance, especially given her first class of the year was Beginning Pointe. She's been looking forward to pointe for a very long time. Juliana's schedule this year is quite full. She has 11.5 hours of dance classes each week, including jazz, modern, theatrical, choreography, worship, and lots of ballet and pointe.
The Lord was hard at work for EP even in the off season. The studio's printer/copier finally died. Of course, there was no money to replace it, but a replacement was needed right away. Unknown to us, the director had just thrown it away. Unknown to the director, we had just learned of a nearly new printer/copier that was available for free. We picked it up, performed a bit of surgery on it to make it work, and EP had its replacement. When we told the director of this great find, she told us how she had just thrown the old one away and had no idea how to replace it. Such beautiful orchestrations occur regularly at EP and PIM, the Lord being the Provider He is.

Adaptable Parents
We also rearranged the whole lobby, but so many parents freaked out about the change (merely because they don't like change), that Kathy moved everything back the way it was. Too bad, because the new arrangement offered more space for Kathy at her desk, more space for moving around, and a better seating arrangement.
Jeez
That's silly. With the way it is now (back to the old arrangement), there was hardly any room to move around between the first and second classes yesterday, with all the parents, the dancers, and the dancers' siblings all moving around. I kept my family back by the vending machines until it cleared out.
I would welcome a new seating arrangement in there. And Kathy definitely needs more room for her desk. Ya'll should put it back to her changes and just let the parents adjust and live with it.
Not likely
You don't know Kathy too well, huh?
She's a people-pleaser--not quite a total one, but infinitely more than I am (considering I have zero people-pleasing in me naturally). I suspect she won't ever try moving furniture around again, especially her desk, regardless of how much sense it makes. She's willing to accept the consequences for this choice, too--to her credit.
Stupid parents.

Changes
I like the changes I saw at the studio yesterday. The painted concrete floor in the lobby looks much nicer than the old carpet from last season. My husband was there last week and hung the new picture of all the dancers from last season. It was great to see our kids' smiling faces on the wall.
Sarah has a smaller class (so far) this time and it seems that they will be able to learn some advanced steps for her age group. The dancers were very focused and doing well yesterday.
Plus, Sarah's teacher got married a few weeks ago and her demonstrator had her baby a month ago. EP is being blessed in numerous ways.
