Chickens live next door
America will be like Mexico in 50 years, says Vox. I don't think it'll take that long at all. My Hispanic neighbors occupy 50% of the homes on my suburban street but nearly 90% of the population. For example, the 3-bedroom, 1.75-bath house next door has had at least 13 people living in it. The dozen or so across the way have already moved in their livestock, chickens. (trying...to suppress...urge to rant...)
Illegal immigrants from the south generally aren't ready for membership in a first-world society. Rather than living up to the standards of civilization (e.g., rule of law), they tend to bring with them their barbarians ways, pulling an already precarious society right off the edge of civilization. When this hemisphere merges politically, our Hispanic neighbor nations will not inherit America's legacy of innovation, growth, and Christian philosophy--instead, America will inherit their legacy of petty dictatorships, total corruption, and lawlessness.
The question I keep asking myself is, how far am I willing to go to defend my way of life? Will I simply flee northward with the rest of the first-worlders of my neighborhood? Am I willing to engage lawless people legally? As law enforcement grows increasingly corrupt and similarly populated with the lawless, what recourse will I have? Should I be wary of such lawlessness affecting the safety of my family and the integrity of my property?
Brave New World.

So far, so good
So far, it seems like this "association" is mostly so we know our neighbors, a largely bygone phenomenon. Issues such as chickens, junk cars, and other code violations were raised, of course, and legal courses of action recommended. Now let's hope the "leaders" don't go mad with power.

My neighborhood is having
My neighborhood is having its first "all-hands" get-together this weekend, specifically to discuss matters such as this. I doubt those who need to hear it will show, but perhaps the rest of us can work together to clean up the area a little bit. For now and as long as it's at least mildly effective, it seems I'll be engaging these lawless people legally. I pray escalation will always be unnecessary.
