Bush's Faith
Bush talked about his faith. Being such a public figure and so inept in his infantile and perverted faith, Bush probably caused just as much damage as Bryan did in Scopes. I expect his example will accelerate our national descent into apostasy.
Bush brazenly denied the authority of the Word and its face-value truth, almost laughing at the idea that God meant what He had written in His Word. He also made the retarded attempt to blend the Bible (truth) and Evolution (fantasy). Then he went on to say, without hesitation, that the God of the Bible is the same as the god of the Koran, despite these two having almost no traits in common. As always, he also denied we're at war with fundamental Islam, demonstrating his inability to name our enemy. He said he thinks there should be "something more powerful than government," yet he is directly responsible for illegally growing the federal government into the most power entity in human history. The only positive thing I saw in the interview was that he said he'd be the last person we'd want to be a preacher (post-presidency). However, there he was, on national TV, preaching evil perversions of the faith. While it's laudable that Bush, as far as we know, is not a philanderer and a drunk, his perverted representation of Christianity is appalling, sinful, and very damaging to the True Faith.
Woe to this country with leaders like Bush. (Don't get me wrong. Most of the alternatives are far worse!) And woe to this country for churches that crank out "believers" like Bush. Kudos to Billy Graham for setting Bush onto the Christian path, but woe to the churches that utterly failed to disciple him along it.
