Good Husband

  1. He must be a born-again Christian, able to give testimony of his salvation.
  2. He must be patient.
  3. He must be kind.
  4. He must not be envious.
  5. He must be humble.
  6. He must be not easily angered.
  7. He must not hold a grudge.
  8. He must not delight in evil.
  9. He must rejoice with the truth.
  10. He must be a protector.
  11. He must be trusting.
  12. He must have hope.
  13. He must persevere.
  14. He must be loving.
  15. He must be joyful.
  16. He must be good.
  17. He must be peaceful.
  18. He must be faithful.
  19. He must be gentle.
  20. He must have self-control.
  21. He must be a hard worker.
  22. He must love the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and body.
  23. He must walk in all God's ways.
  24. He must hold fast to the Lord.
  25. He must not worry, but turn to God in prayer.
  26. He must press onward toward the goal.
  27. He must build others up with his words.
  28. He must have not even a hint of sexual immorality or impurity.
  29. He must not joke coarsely or say inappropriate things.
  30. He must not gossip.
  31. He must not be greedy.
  32. He must not be yoked with unbelievers.
  33. He must be the salt of the earth and light of the world and obey the Great Commission.
  34. He must like children.
  35. He must be committed to attending worship regularly.
  36. He must keep his priorities straight.
  37. He must have a sense of humor.
  38. He must be intelligent.
  39. He must not be overweight (a violation of the principle of self-control).
  40. He must be able to support a family.
  41. He must be the spiritual leader of the home.
  42. He must be committed to staying out of debt.
  43. He must be committed to homeschooling.
  44. He must have some kind of musical ability.
  45. He must be attractive to me.
  46. He must have daily quiet times with the Lord.
  47. He must love Israel and the Chosen People.

Some must's may be should's, as worked out with the parents and the child. The non-negotiable qualities will use the word must, while the rest will use should.
