Biblical defense, using the words of Yeshua, for a divided extended family:

1. The Lord did not come to unite but to divide (Matthew 10:34-37, Luke 12:51-53, Luke 14:26).

2. Our true family are those who do the will of the Lord (Matthew 12:50, Mark 3:35).

3. As prophets of the Lord, those who speak the Word of the Lord, we are not welcome in our home "town" (Matthew 13:57, Mark 6:4, Luke 4:24).

4. His Word is not well received by our extended family, and while we will always remain cordial, we have shaken the dust off our feet (Matthew 10:14, Mark 6:11, Luke 9:5).

5. The Word is wasted on fools (Matthew 7:6, Matthew 7:26, Matthew 13:14-15, Matthew 13:19-22, Matthew 23:17, Luke 24:25).

6. We are always willing to teach the Truth of the Lord to family should any hint of openness be demonstrated by them (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47).
