Confession

Confession

There is no forgiveness without repentance, and there is no repentance without confession. Confession needn't be to another believer, a priest, but often the confessor's repentance is more meaningful to him or her with such a private yet interpersonal confession. As a called and ordained priest of the Lord Jesus the Christ, Wayne is available to hear such earnest confessions. Rest assured, confidence is absolutely respected, as the role of priest is as an intermediary between another and the Lord--it's nobody else's business.

Forgiveness does not come from a priest himself, but from the Forgiver of sins, offered through a priest, should such an intermediary be desired. Just as earthly relationships are marred by unforgiven trespasses, so our relationship with the Lord is afflicted when we fail to repent of our wrongdoing or even wrong-thinking. Confession to another is an important step toward righting that relationship and, along with genuine repentance, leads to forgiveness. The Lord forgets those forgiven sins, never to remember them again.
