Confession

Confession

Confess one to another. Like forgiveness, confession is good for the soul. Carrying the burden of wrongdoing can eat at a man's (or woman's) insides. Telling trusted others our sins, especially with the assurance of the Lord's forgiveness, frees us of them. Confessing to our neighbors our sins against them also opens the possibility of forgiveness. (Should the neighbor refuse forgiveness, know the Lord has given His.)

We especially encourage the discipline of confession in the context of marriage. Promoting openness and intimacy, confession (and mutual reassurance of forgiveness) can bring couples closer together.

We also encourage confession to a priest, and we offer to be your priest. A priest is merely an intermediary between a man (or woman) and the Lord. Such an intermediary is certainly not necessary, as Jesus is the perfect and sufficient intermediary; however, having a tangible priest, an earthly representative of Christ, can mean much to a confessor.
