Accountability
Accountability
The discipline of accountability can be thought of as a specific combination of other disciplines. Prayer, confession, and submission come together in accountability. The earliest church leaders were held accountable to each other and the established leadership. For example, Paul went to Jerusalem to be held accountable for his teaching the Gentile world (composed of both Gentiles and Jews) about the Jewish Messiah. As a disciple grows in the Lord, the frequency of accountability may reduce, like Paul's, because he becomes increasingly accountable directly to the Spirit of God. This takes great maturity, though; and even then, he is held accountable to the church leadership and community.
As disciplined (and accountable) believers, we offer the ministry of accountability in various ways. As a called and ordained minister for Jesus Christ, wayne [at] tuscanycircle [dot] net (Wayne) practices and offers accountability through mentoring, pastoring, confession, and counseling. If you are not in a relationship of accountability, please find one. By remaining connected to the believing community in this way, a disciple can grow mature in the Lord, experiencing great joy and blessing.
In addition to our own personal means of accountability, this web site records our doctrine, ministry, and teaching. Through it, we are held accountable to all visiting believers. Feel free to question or even challenge us on our beliefs. We are prepared to offer Biblical defense for our beliefs and actions, but we are also prepared to humble ourselves by the correction of the Holy Spirit.
